Does the weekend predict Monday's open?
Every full weekend since April: the weekend move from Friday's close to Sunday 6 PM ET, just before stock futures reopen, against the actual gap at Monday's 9:30 open. Updated every Monday.
How to read this
What are these prices?
They come from perpetual futures that track stocks, indexes, metals, oil and currencies and trade 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on Hyperliquid, mostly through its trade.xyz markets. Traders keep buying and selling them while the stock market is shut, so their price shows where people are willing to trade right now.
Why do they not match my broker?
Your broker shows the last official trade, which does not change until the market reopens. These are different instruments that keep trading, so they can sit a little above or below. Your shares will open at whatever price buyers and sellers agree on at 9:30 AM ET, which can be different again.
What is "since close" measured from?
Each market's own price at the moment Wall Street last closed: 4 PM ET, or 1 PM ET on early-close days. So the number is how far it has moved since the closing bell, not since some other reference.
Can I rely on it to call Monday?
No. The record above shows how often the weekend move has pointed the same way as Monday's open. It helps, sometimes, mostly when the weekend move is large. News on Sunday night and Monday morning often changes things.
What does "Thin" mean?
Less than $250,000 has traded in the last 24 hours, so a single order can move the price. Read those numbers with care. Markets with no trades at all are hidden.
What does "Pre-IPO" mean?
These companies are not listed on a stock exchange yet. The price is what traders expect a share to be worth, not a real share price.
Why does oil or natural gas look different from my app?
Commodity contracts follow a specific futures month, which can be a later month than the one your app shows, so the price itself can be a few percent apart. The move since the close is the number to watch.
What about Asian stocks like Samsung or SoftBank?
They are priced in US dollars and measured from Wall Street's close like everything else. Their home markets in Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong closed hours earlier on Friday and reopen on Sunday evening ET, which is Monday morning there.
How does the Monday call work?
Before Monday's 9:30 AM ET open, pick whether the S&P 500 will open higher or lower than Friday's close. After the open we compare the index's official opening value with Friday's close and show how you and everyone else did. After a holiday it is the next trading day instead of Monday. It is a game, not a forecast or advice.
What is saved about me?
Your list and your shares stay in this browser and are never sent to Tradetus. The Monday call sends only your pick and a random code that stops the same browser being counted twice.
